White Lodging adheres to a philosophy of continuous improvement through learning and training. We know that the most successful leaders are those who have a thorough understanding of hotel operations as a whole, and every role within the operation.
The White Lodging Internship Program has been specifically developed for hospitality students interested in gaining first hand knowledge of the industry. This program is offered to students from both within the United States and around the world.
This program provides the eager intern with hands-on operational experience as well as an understanding of White Lodging culture. The program is conducted over a 12-week period during which the intern must complete weekly assignments while working in various positions. While positions are available throughout the calendar year, interns are most prevalent during the summer months.
Internships can be completed in one or more departments within the operation: Front Desk, Sales, Housekeeping, Banquets, Restaurant and Culinary. Students who successfully complete a second and / or third internship are eligible for a bonus of $500. All interested candidates must interview with Human Resources or a local White Lodging representative.
This program is available year-round to international students entering the hospitality industry or already enrolled in a related degree program. Based on the length of stay, trainees are rotated through multiple job positions within two to four departments. Depending on performance, some exposure to supervisory responsibilities may also be incorporated. Some sample rotations are as follows:
