OPENING IN FEBRUARY 2009, THE 143 ROOM SPRINGHILL SUITES OFFERS TRAVELERS SELECTION OF A NEW HOTEL IN A PRIME LOCATION

MERRILLVILLE, IN (December 30, 2008) – One of the country’s fastest growing independent hospitality, development and management companies, White Lodging recently announced the appointment of Dan Applegate as General Manager and Samantha Osterud as Cluster Director of Sales for the SpringHill Suites by Marriott Salt Lake City Airport hotel slated to open in February 2009. In addition to the SpringHill Suites, Osterud oversees sales initiatives at the Residence Inn and Courtyard by Marriott Airport hotels.

Applegate, age 28, joined the White Lodging team in 2005 as Assistant General Manager of the Courtyard by Marriott in Longmont, Colo., and was promoted to General Manager within that same year. During his time there, his property received numerous accolades from Marriott International, including Platinum Status for guest satisfaction scores and was the number one hotel in the Western Region for the Courtyard brand for overall guest satisfaction in 2007. Prior to accepting the post as General Manger of the new SpringHill Suites, he served as General Manager of the Residence Inn Salt Lake City Airport Hotel since August 2007.

An 18-year hospitality industry veteran, Osterud, age 37, joined this White Lodging team in the fall of 2008 to oversee both the Residence Inn and Courtyard by Marriott airport hotels. Prior to her role with White Lodging, she served as Cluster Sales Manager for the Downtown Salt Lake City Residence Inn and Courtyard Marriott Downtown for four years. A graduate of Dixie College St. George, Osterud has extensive Marriott Brand and sales training including course completion in everything from Revenue Management and Sales and Service Foundations to Mission Possible and Dynamic Selling, to name a few.
